Our client is one of the world leaders in management and business education, whose purpose is to develop break-through insights and successful leaders that have a positive impact on business around the world. They now have an opportunity for a PR / Press Office Manager to join their Communications team.
In this role you will join a team that’s responsible for building global brand awareness of the School across its various stakeholder groups, and for enhancing its reputation among prospective students, prospective employees, alumni and the business community.
As the PR / Press Office Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the School’s Press Office. Your duties will include:
- Raising the profile of the School and its global brand through generating national and international media coverage - Developing and maintaining the School’s strong relations with journalists in the UK and key countries - Delivering strategic and consistent communication of the School’s key information - Ensuring coordination and rationalisation of School-wide messages - Working and negotiating contracts with the School’s two overseas PR agencies
Additionally, you will also be required to manage, motivate and develop a team, monitor and evaluate the work and results of the press office, and identify and develop newsworthy stories - proactively pitching these to key media targets.
To succeed as the PR / Press Office Manager you must be a graduate (or equivalent) with significant experience of media relations or journalism, preferably gained within a business or education environment. You will also need to demonstrate media contacts within business and/or education.
With your exceptional written and verbal communication skills, you will also possess the ability to develop media pitches and stories, and you must be able to build and manage relationships with key stakeholders. A professional qualification in marketing, public relations or communications would be beneficial to your application.
